EBM
March 12, 2008I learnt from SusuIbu.com that dried longan + red dates can increase milk supply.
Off I went to kedai sen-sei to buy those items. Mencabar jugakla nak mencari kedai sen-sei ni sebab I’m not very familiar with Kajang area and I know that there is no kedai sen-sei in Bandar Baru Bangi sebab kawasan Melayu. Meraban-raban jugakla mencari, nak tak nak kena jugak ke Kajang.
The reason nak try petua ni bukan sebab my supply dah merundum. For the time being my supply is doing just OK. 4 bottles of 3oz EBM daily at the babysitter’s, cukup untuk Tasneem’s daily need. My in-house stock now cuma ada 5 botol aje. 4 in my fridge and 1 kat rumah babysitter.
On daily basis I plan to have 4 pumping sessions. 6-7am, 9-10am, 1-2pm and 4-5pm, BUT I often missed the 6-7am, and 1-2pm session. Every pump (both sides) I’ll usually get 6-7oz of EBM. Those EBM I will transfer to jelly bottle and I’ll have 4 bottles of EBM, 3oz each. For me to get 6-7oz of milk, I’ll pump for 1 hour, 30mins each. Mungkin teknik ni kurang berkesan for long term, because I read an article (tak ingat url) yang to increase milk supply kena increase pump session + decrease pump time, meaning short pumping time but frequent session.
The sad thing is, I can’t do that. I’m afraid that if I decrease pumping time, I will not express the 6-7oz of EBM that I needed. I tried not to use the buffer stock and I’m trying to increase my in-house stock.
So that’s why I wanted to try the dried longan + red dates petua. If let say the petua works for me, I hope I can express more milk within that 1 hour so that I can have more in-house stock. macam tamak aje kan bunyi nye. hehe
Lucky that my current-not-so-best- job doesnt require me to travel outstation, but I just feel secure to see stocks of EBM piling up my fridge. Tak simpan bahan mentah pun xpe. hehe.
Lets just see if the petua works for me.
