Dry/Wet- pers
March 16, 2008Our little Tasneem is getting wiser each day. She started to tell us her likes & hates. Likes- bubbles & smiles. Hates- wailing cry.
For instance, she hates her (current) diapers. Brand = D*ypers.
It started a few nights ago, as usual she will have a bit of tantrum when I wanted to put her to sleep. Obviously, she was sleepy with that red-eye socket but she refused to be put down, her bum-bum was clean, rejected her milk and gave a wailing cry. Abi took her over and she was calmed for about 5mins and started the tantrum-drama all over again.
Despite her angry cry, abi put her down , undressed her pants and opened her diaper. Terus berhenti menangis. The diaper was slightly wet. We changed to a new one but she started to cry again afterwards.
But when we opened her newly-changed diaper, she stopped crying. We changed her into nappy cloth instead.
That was the 1st incident and a few about the same incidents happened nights after. She hates her D*ypers.
To date, we already consumed 3 brands; Mam*Poko, Pam*ers and D*ypers. She never cries with the previous 2 brands. I noticed that the brand caused marks on my daughter’s thigh eventhough I loosely sealed it. Kesian I tengok peha Tasneem berkesan2 dengan diaper mark. :( Also, I think supposedly the diaper should be in dry condition but with this brand, the diaper felt wet. Takkanlah Tasneem nak wee-wee 8x in 2 hours time. Paling2 banyak pun 2x agaknya.
Ikutkan, I prefer to use nappy cloths for her day-time usage and diaper at night (sebab ummi dia malas nak bangun selalu at night.hehe) In fact, we have been using napply cloths during her day-time since she was born. Eventhough we had to changed her frequently but the result was great; to date Tasneem never had nappy rashes.
But now, she wears diapers all the time eversince I started to work. Ikutkan hati, nak aje mintak bbsitter pakaikan nappy cloth, more economical tapi nanti tak larat pulak kami nak maintain. Bbsitter- tak larat nak selalu cek & tukar lampin mcm x kena jaga budak lain and buat kerja lain; ummi pulak tak larat nak membasuh & menjemur kain2 lampin tu hari2.
Since Tasneem dislikes this D*ypers brand, kena la pulak pikir brand lain lepas ni. There’s A LOT of brands in the market tapi bukan senang nak beli, the brand must be economical in price but able to maintain good quality. Because we will be using diapers on daily basis, meaning 4-5 diapers/day; so those criteria are extremely important.
Below are my testimonial on brands that we’ve used so far (based on my experiences).
-
Mam*Poko = too expensive but good quality. Thick & fully-covered area. Maintain the dryness and able to with-stand massive poops. He heh. We might buy this brand and use it on outings ONLY, not on daily usage. Mahal ooo.
-
Pam*ers = price-wise OK but quality-wise NOT ok. Nipis and partial-covered area, especially at the back. Caused catastrophic damaged to outer wear even with normal poops, let alone massive poops. We will never buy again this brand.
-
D*ypers = price-wise OK but narrow-cutting style. Caused tight-marks around the thigh area, even after loosely sealed. Can handle massive poops but downside in handling wee-wee. It felt wet. Should change to Wet-pers instead. hohoh
Will not buy in future.
My sister is suggesting P*tP*t brand but I have yet to try it. Diapers yang sekarang ni ada banyak lagi. So kena lah guna sampai habis dulu baru boleh beli yang lain.
So mommies out there, what say you in diapers brand and your testimonial?
